Croatian language placement test
In Croaticum’s Croatian language and culture programmes classes are organized in groups. The groups are formed on the basis of the results of Croatian language placement tests or on the results achieved during the previous semester.
The following students do not need to take the Croatian language placement test in order to enrol:
- Students who have no previous knowledge of the Croatian language.
- Students who have successfully completed the Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture in the previous semester and want to continue learning Croatian on a higher level.
- Students who haven’t successfully completed the Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture in the previous semester but want to continue learning Croatian on the same level.
- Students who have successfully completed the Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture in the previous semester and want to continue learning Croatian in Croaticum Summer School of the Croatian Language and Culture, Croaticum Autumn School of the Croatian Language and Culture or Croaticum Winter School of the Croatian Language and Culture.
All other students must take the Croatian language placement test, including students who sucessfuly completed one of Croaticum’s Croatian language and culture programmes but had a pause (one semester or longer) before enroling in the next programme.
The results of the Croatian language placement test are used only for purposes of organising classes. Therefore, they do not indicate language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and they are not available to students in a form of a certificate. If a student is interested in obtaining a language proficiency certificate, Croaticum also tests the knowledge of Croatian for different purposes.
