Short Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture

The Short Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture takes place over 15 weeks in one semester. Students attend two 45-minute lessons twice a week (2×45 minutes), which totals 60 language lessons in one semester. In addition, students attend 15 field classes per semester in various cultural institutions in Zagreb.

The Short Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture is accredited as the Croatian Language and Culture Course. Successful completion of the programme earns students 4 ECTS credits.

Croatian classes are organised at different levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The Croatian Language and Culture Course has been derived from Language Exercises in Croatian as a Second and Foreign Language. Its description is available here.

Additional information

Classes are organised in diverse groups of students speaking different languages and belonging to different nationalities and age groups. Groups are formed on the basis of the results of Croatian language placement tests.

Regular attendance and a passing grade in the final exam are required for a successful completion of the Short Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture.
